Since I was 9 years old, swimming for me was a safe space. It was a place of belonging, and as a shy little girl, it was my savior.
Swimming taught me how to create belonging for myself and other people, to create a space for people to come together and build on themselves. This work is so important, and it helped me learn to stand with myself, not against myself.
When we stand with ourselves, we provide an environment of belonging and allow ourselves to be accepted exactly as we are. We don’t hide away, we don’t abandon ourselves, and we learn to trust ourselves.
My invitation for you is to accept your own agency, own what you do as well as what you can improve, and have your own back. Look at the different parts of yourself and accept it all. Stop hiding away from yourself and your story, and stand with yourself.
In this episode, I’m showing you how to stand with yourself, not against yourself, and the importance of doing so. I’m sharing a tool to help you do this work, and why loving all parts of yourself will help you own your voice, and stand in your true power.
