How do you respond to fear? Do you hide away, or fight, or flee? Fear is an emotion, and it is powerful. It is here in our bodies to keep us alive, but that doesn’t always mean it feels good.
Maybe you have a job interview or a new relationship. You’ve desired it for a long time and all of a sudden, you’re noticing that you feel fear around it. Do you avoid it and quit ahead of time, or do you create fights with people on purpose as a defense mechanism?
Whether you fear failing, making mistakes, or something not working out, you are not alone. There are many reasons we feel fear and there are various drivers for fear that I constantly coach on as my clients go through change.
Our brains are so great at dress rehearsing tragedy, and while we love to dream and scheme about wonderful things, feeling fear can lead to us not taking action. When fear shows up for you, I invite you to ask yourself the question: “What do I know about myself, no matter what?”
In this episode, I’m showing you how to use this question to get clear on what you are afraid of and work through it. Hear a belief that has helped me overcome so much fear in my life, and how to create a go-to strategy to implement in your life for the next time fear shows up.
