As you know, I recently went on vacation where I spent two and a half weeks with my family on an action-oriented trip with lots going on, followed by some downtime with my husband in Mexico.
I couldn’t wait to get to Mexico to rest and restore, and the whole week was designed for me to take up space in my life where I didn’t have to be productive. I specifically made it time to play and do what I wanted to do in order to relax.
When I finally did get the downtime I wanted to rest and restore, I kept thinking about whether I was doing what I wanted to do. Was I making good use of my time or was I wasting it? It isn’t often that we get time like this in our lives, so I wondered if I was spending this precious time wisely or wasting it.
Brené Brown states that tranquility is associated with the absence of demand and no pressure to do anything. I invite you to consider where this shows up in your life. Are you wasting time or are you providing an environment where you are cultivating tranquility?
In this episode, I’m sharing what can happen when we finally have the space to rest and how to deal with your brain telling you all the things you should or shouldn’t be doing or that you are wasting time. Discover the importance of tranquility and how to get comfortable with it and the importance of having space to relish being in the feeling of doing nothing.
