As a leadership coach, one of the things I do a lot of coaching on is communication. Communication can be scary and intimidating. Maybe it’s something you think you should know how to do, but let me tell you, it’s a learnable skill. And one of the things I talk a lot about with my clients and provide coaching on is how to give feedback.
There’s often this idea that feedback is negative, but today, I’m focusing on the positive feedback we’re often reluctant to give or receive. I discuss why giving and receiving positive feedback puts us in a vulnerable position, which you might be reluctant to get into.
In this episode, I share the story of one of my clients where she was brave and gave positive feedback to someone, and I discuss what the process looked like for her. Discover what makes you feel safe, and if it involves refraining from clear communication with others, you’ll learn how to cultivate the skillset of communication.
