We often think that it’s the big, shaming things that create our pain and suffering. We think that these big events cause the issues we face, but often, this isn’t the case. Often, it’s the little things.
When little things come up and we don’t acknowledge them, they can stir into a shame storm or build up to a bigger problem. When these things add up and we hear them so often, they become how we identify. They become our truth.
I always say that small hinges can move big doors. And small things can bring us so much joy. But it works both ways, small hinges can trap us inside our prison walls, and the small things can grow into big problems.
It takes little acts of courage to be brave, and we need to hold the capacity to deal with all things – the difficult things too. I invite you to stop discounting the small things in your life. Acknowledge them, process them, and own your story.
