Do you remember those carefree days of being 11? There was so much time to squander, nothing to do, and no stress; the days were magical and amazing.
As we grow, we find ourselves with more to do, more responsibility, and less of the freedom we had in the summer of 11. We long for those days of ease and freedom, and we wish we could do them all over again.
But here’s the thing: do you really want to be 11 again? It is so easy to get caught up in the magical, wishful thinking that we forget the constraints we had in the summer of 11. Chores, boring errands, living on somebody else’s rules; there are so many elements we forget when we look back through rose-tinted glasses.
When you find yourself longing for the summer of 11, I invite you to consider what it is you are really wanting in your life. It isn’t possible to go back and relive the summer of 11, but there are things you can do right now to incorporate what you are missing. Consider what they are, and how to implement them.
In this episode, I’m helping you get perspective on what you’re really desiring and longing for in your life and showing you how to take agency over your life.
