Travel is a great teacher for me. It gets me out of my comfort zone and teaches me a lot about myself. But sometimes, it can bring me anxiety.
I recently went on a solo trip to Italy, something I had been so looking forward to. Right before the trip, I woke up in a panic and dread because I didn’t have it all figured out. I wanted to cancel the trip because I felt anxious that I didn’t have a clear plan.
When we’re in the midst of something difficult, we tend to look at something else with this fantasy land mentality, that everything is going to be delightful over there. We want to make rash decisions, but it isn’t always the solution.
Feeling anxious is part of human nature. The next time you notice yourself experiencing anxiety or you find yourself in a position where you want to quit and not move forward, I invite you to ask yourself: what do you need to feel comfortable? What do you need to overcome this anxiety?
In this episode, I’m sharing more about a recent experience where I had some anxiety that caught me by surprise. Discover 3 key learnings from my recent solo trip to Italy, some effective tools to help you the next time you experience resistance or anxiety, and how to focus on the next step you can take in a situation where you feel anxious.
