As women, we have receive the cultural programming throughout our lives that working hard is what will get us to where we want to be, and we aren’t supposed to take time for ourselves. We are told that it is selfish and that we should prioritize working hard and looking after others.
So we work hard and prioritize work, thinking that working hard means we’re more productive. But are you really more productive?
It has taken me a long time to become comfortable with having some downtime and play. I learned that hard work doesn’t always equal productivity, and it doesn’t always mean good work. It is important to make time for ourselves.
Instead of focusing on only working hard, I invite you to schedule time for yourself, whether it’s daily, weekly, or monthly. Think about where you can take time out in your life for fun so that you can be even more effective in other areas.
Listen in this week as I’m sharing the myths of working hard and showing you why you don’t need permission to take time for yourself. Discover the importance of scheduling in fun time and time for yourself, and how to stop prioritizing only working hard and start prioritizing yourself.
