Are any of your expectations influenced by fear, shame, or magical thinking? These are called stealth expectations and they usually are overlooked and unexpressed. They will go unnoticed until they resurface when challenges occur. It’s crucial to be aware of them and to know how to recognize if you have stealth expectations.
In this episode, I discuss the impact stealth expectations can have on you if you don’t pay attention to what’s going on inside yourself, and how to start creating self-awareness about the things that you expect.
There is nothing wrong with expectations, but it’s important to be clear about what you hope will happen once you achieve them. Today, I invite you to examine your expectations and begin to notice whether they may be stealth expectations. I offer you questions and examples to assist you in shedding light on them.
