Can four questions change your life? The framework of inquiry that my guest and I discuss in this episode may be able to do just that.
Byron Katie is a speaker and author of several books including Loving What Is and A Mind at Home with Itself. She is the founder of The Work, a method of inquiry for identifying and questioning any stressful thought. In this episode, she and I discuss The Work and why this type of inquiry is so powerful.
“When I believed my thoughts, I suffered. But when I questioned my thoughts, I didn’t suffer,” says Katie.
The Work consists of four questions and a turnaround step: “Is it true? Can you absolutely know that it’s true? How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought? Who would you be without the thought?” The turnaround involves considering the truths that are opposites of the original thought.
Listen in to this episode to learn more about this framework, hear examples of people using The Work and changing their lives, and hear Byron Katie and me answer listener questions.
