We get so accustomed to the difficulty in our lives.
While we want to enjoy our lives … it requires vulnerability. And we all know how much we dislike vulnerability.
While VULNERABILITY is a popular buzzword these days because of Brené Brown’s insightful work, that doesn’t make living with it easy.
Vulnerability is UNCERTAINTY, EMOTIONAL EXPOSURE + RISK.
Crap. ?
The promise of vulnerability is so wonderful.
It’s the pathway to love, connection + belonging.
However the pathway of vulnerability SUCKS.
The pathway is filled with obstacles + difficulties.
Know that.
Accept it and move forward.
You’ll want to resist being vulnerable.
You’ll want to figure out why you resist being vulnerable.
You’ll have a lot of reasons to not risk being vulnerable …
That’s resistance.
That’s you staying stuck.
That’s how we stay small.
Instead right here, right now I want you to spend your focus + energy on what delights you.
Get used to this feeling state – DELIGHT.
Yes it will bring up vulnerability. ?
You will worry:
- “Do I deserve this?”?
- “Is this possible for me?”?
- “How long will this actually last?”?
Instead focus on:
- Being delighted. ?
- Feeling delighted (it’s okay that it’s uncomfortable).?
- Seeing the delightfulness of your life.?
You don’t need to change anyone.
Delightfulness isn’t outside of ourselves.
It’s inside.
It’s your truth.
It’s your relationship with you.
Start practicing being delighted.
Yes you will suck at it. ?
That’s okay. ??
That’s the process of living delighted.
Continue practicing delightfulness.
