Do you eat something because you are seeking comfort? Often my clients will tell me they ate something to feel better. It is usually some sort of food that most dieters would consider “forbidden food.” When I ask my clients how they felt afterwards, they said they felt uncomfortable, hazy, heavy, tired, or drugged out. Does that sound like comfort to you?

Most of us intellectually understand what we need to do to be healthy and fit, however we sabotage ourselves with our mind’s rationalizations. Next time, when you seek comfort from food, is your body really getting comfort or is it your mind?
