I had it all wrong.
I thought I had to be better than I could possibly be.
I thought I had to achieve great success.
I thought I had to be perfect.
Then, if I could achieve all of these things, I’d be loved.
I would finally be worthy of love + belonging. The thing my heart ached for.
The problem with this theory is that these rules are unattainable because the bar is not defined, and yet so high.
Instead of trying to go outside for love, it’s about loving from within first.
Love from within, regardless of your mistakes and “fallen down” moments.
Love from within, regardless of what you achieve.
Love from within, without having to be perfect (hint: there’s no such thing).
You see my friend, love is the answer you’ve been searching for your entire life. And the fantastic news is that it is already inside of you.
Let go of the rules + the impossible standards and start loving yourself now, exactly where you are, it’s the answer you’ve been searching for your entire life.
